Source Location
A PC based sound source location system
has been implemented at CAIP. The system consists of an 8 channel AT&T
DSP32C based Signalogic DSP board
and a host PC. Eight electret microphones are used to capture audio signals
that are digitized by the DSP board. A computer-directed video camera is
automatically pointed at the sound source. The audio is captured by a beamforming
line array. The system operates in real time, and its components cost approximately
USD$9000. It performs in a robust fashion and may be installed in a less
than an hour. A detailed description of this system is given in (Rabinkin,
1996) and (Rabinkin, 1996b) |
