Rutgers University, New Brunswick, is in picturesque Central New Jersey :o), in the middle of a heavy concentration of research laboratories - Lucent Bell Labs., NEC Research Labs., and David Sarnoff Research Lab., to name a few. The area is also home to many VLSI CAD companies like Cadence Design Systems. Texas Instruments has opened a design center in nearby Warren. In addition to these research opportunities, the Central New Jersey area also offers excellent recreation. New York City is just 45 mins. away, as are the fabulous Jersey Shore beaches. Philadelphia is just an hour's drive, and the Delaware river offers white water rafting and canoeing.
