FrescoAbout the FrescoVFX release

What's new?

We've made special Fresco binaries available so you can run VFX -- the Visual Fresco eXplorer. Binaries are available for Win95/NT 3.5 and Solaris 2.5.

What is VFX?

VFX is a highly customizable, extensible, and integrated environment for the authoring and visualization of Fresco objects. By installing/removing various tools and commands, VFX becomes a generic launching pad for any Fresco applet. VFX's own definition becomes completely dependent on the objects being visualized. The primary concept adopted by VFX content is the merging of documents, graphics, widgets, layouts and applications. Leveraging powerful models for blending [1] and elasticity [2] support from Fresco, VFX features a visualization metaphor called "Selective Augmentation" where the chosen object is moved progressively toward the user. The experience is similar to one trying to pick up an object to examine it in detail.

How do I get it?

FrescoVFX binaries are available for the following processor, operating system, window system combinations:

Sparc - Solaris 2.5 - X11 (Fujitsu Network Communications)
x86 - Win95/NT 3.5 - Win32 (Fujitsu Network Communications)

Both these binaries have been compiled without debugging information.

Happy vfx exploring!
