FrescoHow to Get It

The release available here was assembled on Fri May 17 1996.

The fastest and easiest way to get going with Fresco is to use a binary distribution. The binary distributions also include postscript documentation and sources for the example programs. Binaries are available for the following processor, operating system, compiler, window system combinations:

Sparc - Solaris 2.5 - SC 3.0.1 - X11 (Fujitsu Network Communications)
x86 - Win NT 3.5 - VC++ 4.0 - Win32 (Fujitsu Network Communications)
x86 - Linux - gcc2.7.2 - X11 (Eric C. Newton)
Sparc - Solaris 2.5 - gcc2.7.2 - X11 (Sven Fischer)

You can also obtain the full source distribution along with build instructions:

Unix - X11
Windows - VC++ 4.0 - Win32

But wait, there's more!

Postscript documentation is available at /pub/Fresco/doc.tar.gz or /pub/Fresco/doc.zip.
Also the Fresco ftp site has the full set of available files. See the readme file for a list of what's available.

If you have problems bringing over large files using your web browser or ftp (such as "broken pipe" errors) then see our how to ftp page.
