In our daily lives we interact with computing systems in a few discrete & predictable forms. These systems in turn interact with each other and computing systems- in predefined sequences and associations.

In contrast, consider the next class of computing- Pervasive Computing

In addition to traditional human-computer interactions, Pervasive Computing envisions an environment where humans interact transparently with a “living” environment-an environment composed of sensor networks, computing devices, embedded computers; applications spanning a range of computing devices and seamlessly interacting with one another and humans.

The "Opportunistic Interactions" model exploits these characteristics to enable seamless system interactions, thus providing the essential semantics for enabling pervasive applications.

What's New!?!
