This is a 1 credit undergraduate
seminar for Electrical and Computer Engineering students on the topics of
Entrepreneurship,
Ethics, and Professionalism.
Overall Educational Objective: The goal of this course is to acquaint the students
with the professional practice of engineering. The students will interact with
engineering professionals, attend seminars and meetings so
as to be aware of entrepreneurship, ethics, and
professionalism. The emphasis is on social, ethical and economic factors that
go hand-in-hand with the practice of engineering.
Course Learning Outcomes: An awareness of the following issues: contemporary issues in ECE; understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities; need for lifelong learning; impact of ECE in global, economic, environmental and societal context.
Requirements:
You must attend all lectures. There will also be some reading assignments
posted on
There is a final report requirement (short paper). More details will be described in class.
The
course meets in B-100, Wednesdays from 12-1:20pm. However, many of the guest
