A brief note on Surbahaar :
Surbahaar works with the moto of "Creativity for a cause". A group of enthusiastic students in New York University started a music club in March 1998 and called it Surbahaar!  Surbahaar is now over 60 member strong, and has evolved into an organization of students and professionals based in the NYC/NJ area. This non profit group channels the creative output of its members to raise money for social organizations.
 Their debut performance was in June '98 called  "An Evening Of Hindi Film Songs". All proceeds generated went to Pratham, a Registered Charitable Trust in India. This was followed by a show in Manhattan to a packed audience of 600 people. All proceeds were given to Asha this time. On October 2nd, 1999, in Piscataway, New Jersey they performed a medley of a play, dance and music.Proceeds generated went to Pratham.The October performance was followed by a variety show in November for CRY - Child Relief and You. Next was the Millinium performance in January 2000. This too was a grand success.
