Interactive Visiometrics for Ship Design

AVS Interface
We have developed an nteractive AVS visiometrics interface in 3D
for the LAMP multiple model code:
Visualization graphical interface consists of displays of 3D image of
ship hull geometry, the time series of sea, heave, pitch and
bending moment, pressure distribution and bending moment distribution
coupled with animations of the motion of the ship and the sea.
The user is able to interactively select
windows in the time series to observe the animations of
the ship motions in those time intervals. These displays are
coupled to 3D phase space-time diagrams that provide insight on the nature of
the solution of the differential equations governing the ship motions.
Ship Hull Geometry
AVS interactive interface for visualization
of visualize the ship hull geometry in 3D.
Ship Motion
The animation of ship motion is coupled with the meters showing the
instaneous magnitude of the variables of heave, pitch and bending
moment with the ship motion.

Pressure Distribution
The pressure distribution on the hull surface of the ship is visualized
with the motion of the ship. The color corresponds to the value of pressure.
The user can also observe the highlighted pressure on the ship hull surface.

Bending Moment Distribution
The bending moment distribution on the hull surface of the ship is also
being interactively visualized with AVS interface. The color on hull
surface shows the distribution of the bending moment.

DAVID interface provide 2D interactive tools to visualize the variables
of LAMP code output.
